On my recent trip to St. Lucia I was fortunate to see this beautiful church in the town of Laborie. While waiting for our student team to arrive for a school visit, I went over and took some photos of the Parish of St. Lucia. I was in a rush, so they did not turn out as I had hoped, but I felt this one captured the simple beauty of this old church.

a TREK on a bridge
One of my favorite ways to get exercise, enjoy a good view, and take photos is by riding around on my TREK. This is a beautiful old bridge, in Morris, IL, that crosses the I&M Canal, a brilliant feat of engineering. You can read about the I&M Canal here.

four saint lucia guys
This was taken on my recent trip to Saint Lucia with our church’s youth group. This is four out of the 28 students on the trip. We took some time to visit a lighthouse in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia called: Cap Moule a Chique Light. This is one of highest lights above sea level in the world and is located on the southernmost tip of Saint Lucia. My youngest son is in the foreground.

summer barn
I call it the 5 Mile Barn, because it is near 5 Mile Bridge, west of Morris, IL. I have taken lots of images of it (too many perhaps), but since I pass it on my morning rides, I can’t help but feel that it just is calling to be photographed. I was thinking of going down to it, but the summer rains have really caused the weeds and grass to grow. Plus, there was a rather good sized snake skin right near where this was taken that made me wonder who was waiting for me down there!
morning ride
Hello WordPress family! Missed you guys 🙂 Finally home after a two week trip to St. Lucia with our church’s student team. We had a BLAST, and, I am so proud of the work of our students. This was taken this week during one of my early morning rides. I may post one or two St. Lucia pics. Have a great weekend!
st. lucia!
Dear WordPress family: just a quick post from St. Lucia, where we are beginning Day 7 of a 14 day trip. The church where I pastor has been sending a high school student teams to St. Lucia since 2005. We go every three years to love on the kids by sharing the Gospel through our summer day camp called SpyKidz. We take the high energy, joy filled, crazy fun of our week long day camp and condense it to 4 days for the St. Lucia children. On this trip we had a couple of firsts: a visit to a prison and a home for the elderly. Both experiences were difficult, but also life changing. We also do school visits and open air concerts. So proud of our high school students and so proud to be a part of this team!
5 Av 53 St
5 Av and 53 St where, apparently, no one can find a scraper, or, a can of paint. Gotta love New York! This will be my last post for a couple of weeks. Heading out to St. Lucia for a missions trip with 29 high school students from our church’s youth ministry. Looking forward to partnering with the Evangelical Church of the West Indies for a 5th time and seeing old friends as well. Be back soon WordPress family!
