it’s really a portal

it's really a portal

If you stare at this long enough you will pass through the “ceiling” (so called), and find yourself in the Twilight Zone. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

This is the first of two “train” shots that I will be posting. This was taken on a recent trip to Chicago with my colleagues.

there is no why

cool sunset

Another take on the beautiful sunset from last week. I am sure there is a psychological, spiritual, and emotional explanation for why I love sunsets so much……. or why I love the shore….. but it really doesn’t matter…. I just love them….

MCHS Marching Band

MCHS Marching Band

Thought I would share a little home town news for this post. You know that summer has officially come to an end when the Grundy County Cornfest comes to town. This was the 67th year of this celebration that features a rather lengthy parade with politicians, local businesses, and my favorite, marching bands. This is the Minooka Community High School Marching Band. My youngest son plays in the pit (the marimba) and the band is having a great year in competition.

Lord-  …please forgive me

at last the light fades

and the stars accompany my reflections

This is the La Salle Street Station in Chicago. I am still thrilled to hop on these cool trains and head downtown from the suburbs.

Spent a wonderful day in Chicago celebrating the birthday of one of my colleagues. I never grow tired of Chicago’s architecture, art and public spaces.

Back to one of my favorite parks: William G. Stratton State Park, Morris, Illinois. It is usually peaceful here and it is a nice place to see the seasons change. Looking forward to the beauty and color of the Fall season at this park!
