Taken on my last bike trip to the Illinois River at the William G. Stratton State Park in Morris, IL. Captured with my iPhone and, after sharing it on my Facebook, I decided to post it here. Also, I have been under the weather lately and just don’t have the energy to work on a photo. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Many of my images come from bicycle rides along the Illinois River. We live just 50 miles from the city of Chicago, and a bicycle ride 25 mores miles west brings me to the riverside city of Marseilles, IL. I have taken the ride many times, but on my most recent trip I discovered an old damn of some sort in a small canal near an abandoned building. I love old, abandoned “stuff”, so the next few images are from my recent “discovery.” Hope you enjoy.

For the past two summers I have been part of a team that has done some very special work at a camp in Montana. This camp brings together siblings that have been separated in the Montana foster care system. It is a beautiful thing to love on the campers and treat them to a few days of fun! It is also a bittersweet time with these kids, recognizing that some see their brothers or sisters only at this time, and, many have some very hard back stories. We have also enjoyed taking hikes into this beautiful part of the world! If you ever have the chance to go out to Montana, be sure to visit the Custer National Forest.

Taken this past summer in Montana, in the Beartooth Mountain Range. My good friend Ryan, and, yours truly. I’m the guy in the glasses. This is the first of three Montana themed posts.

Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons, and October is quickly making room for the coming cold of November and beyond. This was taken just outside my front door. Happy Fall and Winter everyone!

let go the summer days

the buzzing evening songs

and the corn so high

and proud

just embrace crispy leaves

the cedar scented sweater

it’s raining yellow

orange and red

dear cold rose

rest beneath

a wintry blanket

the dark cold days

just a bridge

to that wondrous

moment
