and He is love

the beautiful sadness of fall
colors singing proudly
before cascading to the earth
creating a carpet
of emerald crimson and lemon
to welcome the solace and solitude of winter

the humility of each season
is the common theme of the songs they sing
each season happily surrenders its beauty
to the charm and grace of the next
and so all creation sings to the Creator

let us do the same
welcome the constant change
that this life brings
and be alive
to all that must die within us
and be willing to surrender
to all that must be reborn
through confession
forgiveness
and the grace and mercy
of our Lord

"Yes, grass withers and flowers fade,
but the word of our God endures forever." *

and
He
is
light

and
He
is
love

* Isaiah 40:8

illinois river morning

I would not call the Illinois River picturesque, however, with a little help from the sun and some clouds, it dresses up nicely!

oh that midwest sky

Took a short ride with rain to the north, and rain to the south. I was able to stay in the middle and enjoy the beautiful Midwest sky. Thanks for stopping by.

a stormin’ minooka mornin’

A beautiful, if stormy, start to the day.

clouds, light, and a wind farm ride

The first three images were taken from my front porch, and just a 2 minute ride from my home. The sky, light and clouds were just spectacular. The rest are from a ride today on my new Yamaha Tracer 900. Have a great weekend everyone!

the beauty of the ‘nook

The ‘nook is short for my home town, Minooka, Illinois. We ended Monday night with a rainbow and beautiful sunset – both taken from my front porch. The cactus flower is in the garden in front of our house. The sunrise is just a 2 minute walk from my home. What does the beauty around your home look like?

sunset north dakota style

We are enjoying a visit with our youngest daughter, her husband, and our youngest granddaughter in North Dakota. Saturday ended beautifully.

front porch photography

Street photography, sports photography, and now, I give you, front porch photography.

after the storm

A spectacular sky greeted me on the way home after a violent rainstorm came through our little town.

finally riding… or…

…Post COVID-19 Ride. My wife and I tested positive for COVID-19 on April 26. I am happy to report that we are both doing fine! We never had any cough or breathing issues. It was so good to get out today! I hope to get back to more motorcycle riding and photography now that we have recovered. Stay safe and healthy everyone!
