just be

o eternal
Light of the world
i need Your peace
it's so stormy
in my soul
and there's trouble
in the world
let me find peace
in You

o eternal
Light of the world
come fill my mind
with gentle whispers
from your Word
all the truth
i think i know
i surrender
i need to see
and i want to rest
just rest
in You

o eternal
Light of the world
thank You
for the
quiet morning river song
thank You
for dancing colors
and of course
thank You
for a little tugboat
help me to
swim upstream today
in Your love
in Your peace
i'm still trying to do
when all You desire
is for me
to be
just
be
in
You

happy february

Happy February to you. Happy February to you. Happy February, happy February, happy February to you! It’s a new day. Make it a great one.

floody river

Just a couple of posts ago I was enjoying a beautiful sunrise… today the river is swollen after LOTS of rain last night.

peace

Remembering that the days are coming when the ice will pass away, and the still, heaviness of summer air will press down on the river, and a fisherman will remain… surrounded by peace…

i am coming soon

A chilly wind accompanied this sunrise whispering, “I am winter, and I am coming soon.”

in the spotlight

A seagull enjoying the moment.

beginning

I started my bicycle ride later than I wanted to, but, it turned out okay. I was able to see the beginning of a beautiful day. We’ll get back to New York soon. (Click on the image for a larger view.)

the stillness of morning

1

…an early morning journey…

2

….chasing my shadow into the west…

3

…then peace…

…in the stillness of morning…

until we “meet” again

morning beauty

The sun doing some painting over the Illinois River in Morris, IL. This may be my last post for a week or so. I will be in Haiti this week on a missions trip and will enjoy sunrises there! We will be ministering to widows and orphans with a team of talented high school students and adults. Until we “meet” again, have a wonderful week!

river moments

river moments 1

Like many of you, I struggle to parallel park my car, so, I can’t imagine guiding these long behemoths along the Illinois River!
