This old train has a rather space age look to it. I like it!
Years ago, my husband’s grandfather worked on the Burlington Route as a switchman. He got struck by lightning one day while he was working (back in 1937). If I didn’t have the photos, I would have a hard time believing that someone could live after a lightning strike to the head. But he did survive and he returned to his job on the Burlington Route. He must have loved his work, because I think (after that) I would have been to0 scared to do my job….any time I saw a storm blowing in. 😉 http://storieswithnobooks.com/2014/06/09/railroad-switchman-struck-by-lightning-1937/
