green and blue

Lot’s of rain yields lots of beautiful green cornfields (if you happen to think cornfields are beautiful!). It has been a BUSY, but wonderful summer. I may not be around WordPress land this week as I fulfill my role as a chaperone for our high school’s band camp this week…. I am not quite sure if we have internet. All to say, have a wonderful week, see you soon!

Two  more images that represent our summer. First up: here are the handicapped parking spaces at my favorite “continues-to-be-flooded” park. Stay tuned for the next one…

the wedding “chapel”

Had time to quickly take these shots and share them with you. This is our sanctuary (my day job is a worship pastor) where our youngest daughter will be married. We had fun decorating and time with family and friends is just priceless…so grateful…

…and here is the next image that, this summer, is a rare sight….a sunny, warm, day. Our youngest daughter is getting married tomorrow, so between celebrations and good times I may be gone for a bit. I will try and post something from our fun! Have a great weekend everyone!

a hole in the sky

This image and the next pretty much sum up the summer here in the northern Illinois plains. The rains have somewhat diminished in frequency, but river flooding continues. I was at meeting the night this was taken and missed some pretty spectacular colors from this crazy sunset…but I managed to capture a few and thought this was the best of the bunch. This is about a 5 minute walk from my home.

fort worth, tx

It has been a while since I have last posted because I have been in Texas this past week presenting a couple of workshops at a worship conference. I stayed with some dear friends that we have known for over 30 years (yup, I am a bit old)! I was able to visit the seminary I graduated from…. uhh…. a while ago….and we spent some time in downtown Fort Worth, TX. These were taken at the Water Gardens with my phone since I decided not to bring my Canon.

The summer flooding of the Illinois River has finally begun to recede. Illinois has had record rains in June, so hopefully we will be entering a bit of a drier weather pattern in July. This park is still closed due to the swollen Illinois River.
