what we saw on milwaukee avenue

Took a stroll down Milwaukee Ave. in Logan Square, Chicago with my oldest grandson. This is what we saw. Thanks for stopping by!

and so it begins

Traditionally, the family Christmas tree is set up the day after Thanksgiving, accompanied by a massive Christmas playlist. This year, with our kids gone to see in-laws, one living far away, and and one visiting his girlfriend’s families, it got done a day early. However, the one tradition that will happen today is that moment when all the day’s work is done (outside lights today), and we sit on the couch, turn off all the lights so that only the warm glow of the tree washes over us, and listen to Silent Night ( https://youtu.be/hTSkS0Abas4 ) by Mannheim Steamroller, arguably, the finest arrangement of that beloved hymn. May this season be filled with light and peace for you and yours.

laugh… delight… love…

scenes from a park

2019 has been a wonderful year, and a busy year. Our family is growing and lots of activity and change (the good kind) professionally, so, I am not able to get out and shoot as much. Here are a few moments from a park with two of my grandchildren.

at the boardwalk

My wife and I are back in New York to visit my mom. It is her 90-ish birthday. I am not allowed to know her actual age! Naturally we spent some time at the shore. It was a warm, breezy day. First of a few posts from my favorite place to be.

I am much more at ease with landscape work than portraits. I find the entire process to be so challenging. I am content with how this one turned out. This is grandson number two.

logan square sightings

Three of our four children live in the city of Chicago, so, we are often in this beautiful city. Just a few shots from the Logan Square neighborhood while visiting my oldest son and his family.

brother and sister

Yup… grandkids rock.

come sail away

sailing 3

I have been enjoying visiting family and friends this past week back home on Long Island, New York, where I spent my childhood. If you have been following my blog you know that I am very content and at peace to walk along the shore and enjoy the beauty of the sea. My brother (we are twins) has the same kind of peace and joy, only, he has to be on the sea. He is a talented, skilled sailor and, he and his wife took us out for a sunset sail. It was a beautiful evening. This is the first of a few posts from our evening. Do you prefer the black and white, or, the color version?

robert moses state park

I am back home in New York visiting my family. Always glad to be able to head back to the shore.

These are taken at Robert Moses State Park.

The Robert Moses Causeway is named after the urban master builder, Robert Moses, who is responsible for much of what life looks like in New York: highways, suburbs and, state parks.
