marseilles motorcycle 2

South of the small downtown of Marseilles, main street goes over the Illinois River (the bridge on the right) just west of the Marseilles Lock and Dam (on the left.) The Illinois Waterway connects the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico via the Illinois and Mississippi rivers. This is one of a series of 8 locks, managed by the Army Corps of Engineers, that control water flow from Lake Michigan to the Mississippi River system.

marseilles motorcycle

The first of a series of photographs take on a recent motorcycle trip to Marseilles, IL. I love the small towns along the Illinois River, and, this is one of my favorite. Pictured here is my uber-fun to ride Indian Scout Sixty. More to come…

morning ride

It has been quite a while since I took out my TREK and went for a ride.

It was a gorgeous morning…

Thanks for stopping by.

i am coming soon

A chilly wind accompanied this sunrise whispering, “I am winter, and I am coming soon.”

beginning

I started my bicycle ride later than I wanted to, but, it turned out okay. I was able to see the beginning of a beautiful day. We’ll get back to New York soon. (Click on the image for a larger view.)

bridge-sunset

Sorry for my absence from WordPress land. I have been focusing on finishing up my second Master’s degree, getting a nasty upper respiratory cold and, a bit of travel as well. This was taken on a certain bridge that I finally ascended.
