glimpses of fall

A few moments that caught my eye as Fall descends in our area.

Stepped outside my home to go to rehearsal and was greeted by this.

A spectacular sky greeted me on the way home after a violent rainstorm came through our little town.

matthiessen moments

Spent about 3 1/2 hours hiking at beautiful Matthiessen State Park, in Utica IL. Winter here has been a bit strange: lots of unusually warm days, and not much snow. The park was especially beautiful, with a mix of winter, and a way too early for Spring vibe. The park is named for Frederick William Matthiessen. This was his estate and private park!

Taking a break from Long Island to post a few images of the amazing Leu Gardens, Orlando, FL. (Click on the images to see a larger view.) We enjoyed a stunning display of color and beauty! A must see if you are ever in the Orlando area.

beginning

I started my bicycle ride later than I wanted to, but, it turned out okay. I was able to see the beginning of a beautiful day. We’ll get back to New York soon. (Click on the image for a larger view.)

The biggest take away from my trip to Haiti was the reality that light shines amidst the darkness. We met missionaries, pastors, entrepreneurs and nuns that are bringing hope, practical help and light to Haiti.
