labor day vibes

The day began with a beautiful sunrise, courtesy of the Illinois River.

Then my wife and I worked on a small wallpaper project in our main floor bathroom. No one was hospitalized, the bathroom looks great, and we are still married. The true test of a couple’s emotional health is their ability to finish a wallpaper project!

Finally, hopped on the Kawasaki and took a ride to the wind farms on this beautiful day.

Hope you have a wonderful week. Thanks for stopping by.

sunset at the wind farm

I still haven’t figure out why I find these wind farms so fascinating, but, that’s okay… it’s enough just to share the end of the day with some wind turbines. Thanks for stopping by.

you want some things to stay

your grandchild’s giggle
a warm smile from a stranger
an embrace from the one you love
you just want some things to last
a walk beside the sea
the scent of falling leaves
a comforting glance for your sorrow
you just want some things
not to go too fast
a melody that makes you cry
someone saying i forgive you
sweet vienna fingers with some coffee
you just want some things
to not slip into the past
a frigid cold morning sky
whose design and colors
takes your breath away
couldn't think of a better way
to start and end a day
than losing myself in the beauty
swimming in the artistry
trying to take the whole sky in my arms
you just want some things to stay
you want some things
to never go away
coffee
vienna fingers
embracing the whole sky
i just want some things
to
stay
maybe never have to say
goodbye

ride of spring

March is usually malcontent in the Midwest, which means a moody, sometimes malicious maze of temperatures and a minefield of uncertainty. So! I mounted my trusty motorcycle and meandered through a magnificent field of wind catchers marvelously moving their blades on this most beautiful of spring days. That is all.

a fall visit to the wind farm

A beautiful Fall day, a very cool wind farm and way too many images of my motorcycle. Happy Fall everyone! (Well… at least to those in this hemisphere!)

the road goes ever on and on

Always great to get out on the road!

last ride….?

Perhaps… just perhaps the last motorcycle ride of 2019…? (nope). 😁

three things

  1. It is wonderful to see corn! We have had rain drowning the midwest this year, so, it is so good to finally see cornfields…. with corn!
  2. It is wonderful to ride!
  3. Wind farms are so cool!

summer finally arrived

The farmers in our area have had a really tough time this spring/summer. We have received unprecedented amounts of rain over the past 4 months! They have not been able to plant, and the yield this year is going to be very light. Normally, these fields are filled with tall corn, and beautiful, deep green, soybean plants. Still, love the beauty of the Midwest, and love riding!

polar vortex moments

Welcome to the great, wide, wonderful, ridiculously frigid Polar Vortex of 2019! Thought I would venture out into the eye of the vortex and see what it was like.

Well… wind chill temps were around -30 making both holding a camera and pressing the shutter button a challenge.

Still, I was glad to get out and capture a few images and, even happier to get back home! Wherever you are, I hope it’s warmer than it is here! Thanks for stopping by!
