the edge of the sea

Back to my recent trip to New York for the next few posts. Just love the wind, the clouds, the endless waves and the distant edge of the sea...

the beautiful “off” season

I particularly love the winter shore. The lonely beach seems to have more to say during the “off” season. I enjoy the endless songs of the water as the waves crash, and the water spreads out in a desperate attempt to explore and experience more of what it’s like to be on land. The taste of cold, salty air…

chasing the sunrise

This post could also be called, “variations on a theme.” I got out by 5:00 am and enjoyed chasing the sunrise along the shore. The ocean waves were singing, the sky was just dancing… a beautiful start to the day…

briny chaos

big tower little towers

What may appear to be an unfinished project, is actually a gigantic high ropes and challenge course recently completed and opened at Jones Beach called, Wild Play. It certainly changes the look of the park, but, I can’t wait to give it a try!

end of the island

This image, and the next more than a few posts, will be from my recent trip to Long Island, and time spent exploring the end of the island, known as, Montauk Point. This was taken as I walked around the perimeter of the lighthouse. More on that lighthouse soon. Thanks for stopping by.

We all need it sometimes. (Click the image for a larger view.)

seagulls assemble!

Take that Thanos! (I know! Lame! But fun!) Thanks for stopping by.

the landing

Let’s bring back Art Deco! Part of the charm and beauty of Jones Beach is the beautiful buildings and bath houses in the Art Deco style. The Landing is a restaurant at Jones Beach.
