I married Ruth, my high school sweetheart, in 1983 and we have four children and 6 grandchildren. I have been the worship pastor at Mission Bible Church since 2004. We are located in Minooka, a southwest suburb of Chicago. I love singing, bicycling, music, Mahler, boxing, coffee, movies, The Beatles, sunsets, coffee, Mahler, the seashore, sunsets at the seashore, coffee, and… the seashore. Originally from New York, I grew up 15 minutes from the beautiful beaches of southern Long Island. I have a Fujifilm X-T5 that I use to capture the world I see. In this image you can see the Huntington Harbor Lighthouse, dating back to 1912. Up close it looks like a small castle.

I have been enjoying visiting family and friends this past week back home on Long Island, New York, where I spent my childhood. If you have been following my blog you know that I am very content and at peace to walk along the shore and enjoy the beauty of the sea. My brother (we are twins) has the same kind of peace and joy, only, he has to be on the sea. He is a talented, skilled sailor and, he and his wife took us out for a sunset sail. It was a beautiful evening. This is the first of a few posts from our evening. Do you prefer the black and white, or, the color version?

I am back home in New York visiting my family. Always glad to be able to head back to the shore.

These are taken at Robert Moses State Park.

The Robert Moses Causeway is named after the urban master builder, Robert Moses, who is responsible for much of what life looks like in New York: highways, suburbs and, state parks.

This is the 6th in a small series of images from a recent motorcycle ride to a favorite location, The Marseilles Mill Ruins, which, you can learn about by clicking on a link in my previous post.  These are pictures of one of the gates that controlled the flow of water along channels, called raceways, that were used to help create power and run the old paper mill.
