Be grateful. You’ll feel much better. I promise.

I married Ruth, my high school sweetheart, in 1983 and we have four children and 6 grandchildren. I have been the worship pastor at Mission Bible Church since 2004. We are located in Minooka, a southwest suburb of Chicago. I love singing, bicycling, music, Mahler, boxing, coffee, movies, The Beatles, sunsets, coffee, Mahler, the seashore, sunsets at the seashore, coffee, and… the seashore. Originally from New York, I grew up 15 minutes from the beautiful beaches of southern Long Island. I have a Fujifilm X-T5 that I use to capture the world I see. I also enjoy writing about the images that surface in my mind and heart as I work with the images from my camera. Thanks for stopping by!

The second of three posts from the city of Chicago. Chicago winters are harsh, so I am not quite sure why this is an open air station. Perhaps it was a cost decision, or, the we-can-take-whatever-winter-decides-to-dish-out Chicago-attitude. I have a feeling that it’s option “b.”
welcome to lasalle street
We have lived in the Midwest for about 26 years now, so Chicago is getting really close to becoming – dare this native New Yorker say it? – my home town! I mean no disrespect New York, and you will always be king of the hill, A-number one, top of the heap…. but Chicago has kind of crept into my heart. There….. I said it.

One last image of the Church of the Nativity. This is a wider shot of the Church of St. Catherine (Roman Catholic), which is a part of the traditional site where Christ was born. One of the most amazing aspects of my trip to the Holy Land was the opportunity to visit so many beautiful cathedrals and churches.
