where's carlos? 3

Taken moments before The Bean swallowed me whole. I had enough time to take this shot, grab the SD card and throw it to freedom. I then snapped my shutter three times while saying, “There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home.” That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Not much of a challenge here, but I have to find some way to justify sharing all these picture of The Bean 🙂  Just one more after this one…. I promise.

This was taken at Maggie Daley Park in Chicago. This is an amazing urban play-scape featuring this remarkable suspension rope bridge, and other typical park activities in a modern, beautifully designed setting. A must see if you ever visit Chicago!

Technically speaking, this would be looking right up into the nostrils of the face from the previous post.

Taken just moments before this giant head gobbled up those poor people, who were just minding there own business, out for a stroll on a sunny day in Chicago. Oh the humanity!!!

Back to Millennium Park for this post. Chicago is a remarkable city to experience as a photographer. I hope to take some more time this year to enjoy the architecture and parks of the Windy City.

black and white challenge 5

my dad...my son

I couldn’t help myself! I am posting 2 images for my final entry in the black and white challenge that I received from the always interesting and informative Darwin on the Rocks and Around the World. Be sure to visit this blog… it’s like taking a journey to wonderful places!

The image above is very special to me. The title is “Father and Son.” That’s my father and oldest son walking on my favorite boardwalk enjoying time together. These are two of the most important, kind, loving, funny, caring men that I will ever know, and my heart was full just watching them walk side by side, hearing my dad impart his wisdom and counsel, and seeing my son listening so respectfully and attentively.

I want to challenge the AY-MAY-ZING Marcelo Leonard to participate in the black and white challenge. Rarely do I visit his blog without saying out loud, “Wow!” Take some time to appreciate his artistry and beautiful photography.

Here are the rules:

1.Post a different black and white photo of yours each day for five consecutive days.

2. Nominate a fellow blogger on each day to continue the challenge. See you tomorrow for the next post.

Finally, below is an image of the cornfield that is about a 3 minute walk from my home. It is very flat in this part of the Mid West, and I desperately miss the shore and mountains, but I have also grown to appreciate the beauty of the open sky and the many stunning sunsets that help me say good bye to the days…
