I know, back to the shore! Sorry… it is home, memories, peace, serenity and sentimental nostalgia. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Thanks for stopping by.

lifeguards

lifeguards

Another post from my recent trip to New York. Spent a wonderful, wintry afternoon at Jones Beach. Could not find a lifeguard anywhere, so I went to this lifeguard station to see if any would show up. None did.

I am having a wonderful time being back home in New York (specifically, East Meadow, NY) visiting my parents and family. My mom and dad still live in the house I grew up in and I love coming “home” to love on them and enjoy them. I also love the shore, especially Jones Beach. I think this is the 7th image that I have posted of the Jones Beach water tower. The next few posts will be from my time back home with my dear parents, in my childhood house on Long Island, near my favorite place to be: the shore.

I am in a New York state of mind these days. My elderly parents still live in the house I grew up in and I am looking forward to spending some time with them in a couple of weeks, so, I found this image taken last spring when I was with them. The seashore is my favorite place to be, and, in my humble opinion, it doesn’t get any better than the southern shores of Long Island. Can’t wait to see you mom and dad.

We are back from our conference in Florida. While in Florida we had the opportunity to see family that we don’t often get to see, since someone long ago decided to place Florida and Illinois so far apart from each other! This is my niece, Cami, enjoying the ocean. We spent an afternoon on the beach with her and other treasured family members. Taken at Ormond by the Sea.

Bethpage is a town on Long Island, and apparently, this amazing sand sculpture as well! I do believe that the dragon in this sculpture is called Lignum, who can be seen flying around WordPress Land.  😉

my dad… my son

my dad...my son

My dad just turned 74…my son is 26… their lives and experiences are miles apart… on our last full day in NY we took a walk on the boardwalk at Jones Beach and I was so glad to see these two men – who mean the world to me – talk and share moments together. So grateful for family.
