My son plays marimba in the Minooka Community High School Marching Band and, each year the band marches in the Grundy County Corn Festival Parade. This was taken as they marched in front of the grandstand for judging. Very proud of all these hard working, amazingly talented students!!

I have posted many images from this location in Marseilles, IL: this is the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial. On a recent bicycle ride here I took more time at the memorial. I took many pictures and when I came home I noticed that I took a picture of one of the granite walls without realizing that my last name was on the wall: “Garcia.” I don’t know this brave hero, or the other fallen heroes etched on these silent, black stones, but I am so grateful for their bravery, service, valor and sacrifice.
My dear friends in Apple Genius land held my laptop hostage all week until intense negotiations finally secured it’s release. To celebrate, I am posting Miss Doris 3. Hope you enjoy.
Had a wonderful week at band camp. I brought my phone, so I did not take many pictures, but I may post one or two this week. In the meantime, apparently I have already posted an image of Miss Doris, so this is, officially, the second image of this river boat and barge. Now that the flooding has receded the boats and barges are able to use the Illinois Waterway once again. Miss Doris 3 is coming soon.
…and here is the next image that, this summer, is a rare sight….a sunny, warm, day. Our youngest daughter is getting married tomorrow, so between celebrations and good times I may be gone for a bit. I will try and post something from our fun! Have a great weekend everyone!
