We have lived in the Midwest for about 26 years now, so Chicago is getting really close to becoming – dare this native New Yorker say it? – my home town! I mean no disrespect New York, and you will always be king of the hill, A-number one, top of the heap…. but Chicago has kind of crept into my heart. There….. I said it.

How the mighty have fallen! This old water tower was a favorite landmark in our little town, but, alas, it was not up to the task of providing enough water for the growth in the past 7 to 10 years. Progress…sheesh!

We are having a very cold and snowy winter in the Midwest, but my youngest son and I went out for a winter expedition after the snow storm, and, before the temperatures plummeted – it is now -15 Fahrenheit. It was absolutely beautiful.
