I am having a wonderful time being back home in New York (specifically, East Meadow, NY) visiting my parents and family. My mom and dad still live in the house I grew up in and I love coming “home” to love on them and enjoy them. I also love the shore, especially Jones Beach. I think this is the 7th image that I have posted of the Jones Beach water tower. The next few posts will be from my time back home with my dear parents, in my childhood house on Long Island, near my favorite place to be: the shore.

I am in a New York state of mind these days. My elderly parents still live in the house I grew up in and I am looking forward to spending some time with them in a couple of weeks, so, I found this image taken last spring when I was with them. The seashore is my favorite place to be, and, in my humble opinion, it doesn’t get any better than the southern shores of Long Island. Can’t wait to see you mom and dad.

It’s that time of year again… you know… where I go through the images from this past year… delete lots that I will never look at again (or don’t want to look at again) and find a few that ask me to take a second look. This is one of them. Taken earlier this year when I was in New York with my oldest son, visiting my elderly parents. It was a cold, cloudy, damp and dark day… but it didn’t matter. We have lived in the Midwest for about 26 years now, so Chicago is getting really close to becoming – dare this native New Yorker say it? – my home town! I mean no disrespect New York, and you will always be king of the hill, A-number one, top of the heap…. but Chicago has kind of crept into my heart. There….. I said it.
