This image contains lots of ingredients that make up a wonderful part of my life. It was taken a couple of years ago in my home town, East Meadow NY. You can see that it is the corner of FIFTH ST and PROSPECT AVE. If you walk towards the ’57 Chevy and turn right when you pass it, and walk down FIFTH ST, you will arrive at my home in about 4 minutes. Speaking of ’57 Chevy’s, I remember when my dad had one. In fact, I was so young, I can remember sitting in the back seat with my legs sticking straight out. I was too short to bend my knees over the edge of the cavernous seat. All to say, I love my home town memories, my dad’s old ’57 Chevy, and the precious gift of being able to go back and see my parents in the house I grew up in.

Well, actually, this is just a small portion of the Chicago skyline. This image was taken from the amazing Maggie Daley Park looking back towards Millennium Park. (Click here and here for a couple of my images of Maggie Daley Park.) You can see the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in the lower center portion of the image. I am a New Yorker at heart, but it is really hard to beat the majesty of Chicago and, the beauty of the vast green space and urban playground of Grant Park, Millennium Park and, Maggie Daley Park. Bravo Chicago!

JP Pavilion

The first of two images from downtown Chicago. The Jay Pritzker Pavilion in beautiful Millennium Park, Chicago. The network of tubes above the grass is the structure that suspends the sound system. I have been here many, many times, but never for a concert. I have to fix that!

The last image from a wonderful motorcycle ride last August with a friend that featured a stop in beautiful South Haven. You are looking at the catwalk that leads to the lighthouse.

So….. I imagine this sea gull, (if they fly by a lake are they called lake gulls?) while reflecting on this faithful, old lighthouse that has been keeping watch for years, suddenly being stunned by the question that has now formed in his bird brain: who keeps watch over the lighthouse?

South Haven, Michigan is….well…..for me it’s a haven for the memories that I have left there… I like to think that old lighthouse keeps those memories safe… each time I return I find them there…. I like that…
