This is the last image from a hiking trip that I took with my son to Matthiessen Park. At first I told him not to climb up to the falls… then I followed him! We had a great adventure!
As promised, here is a wide shot of the steps that I perviously posted. We live in the plains of the midwest, so this park is fun to go to because it’s streams, waterfalls, trees and canyons offer a welcome contrast to the endless miles of corn and soybean fields – which also have their own beauty… just lots of it!
This was taken at Matthiessen State Park. This is a favorite place to hike and enjoy canyons and waterfalls. The next few posts will also be from this park.
It has taken some time for me to come to appreciate living on the plains of Illinois. I prefer the shore, and miss the wooded beauty of western Michigan. On the other hand, the unobstructed view of the heavens is its own beauty here. Taken just behind where we live.
