JP Pavilion

The first of two images from downtown Chicago. The Jay Pritzker Pavilion in beautiful Millennium Park, Chicago. The network of tubes above the grass is the structure that suspends the sound system. I have been here many, many times, but never for a concert. I have to fix that!

The beautiful, iconic Wrigley Building, downtown Chicago. All because of chewing gum…..wow….

So….. I imagine this sea gull, (if they fly by a lake are they called lake gulls?) while reflecting on this faithful, old lighthouse that has been keeping watch for years, suddenly being stunned by the question that has now formed in his bird brain: who keeps watch over the lighthouse?

The venue: Wrigley Field, Chicago.

The artist: The Piano Man.

The experience: music magic, sonic storytelling, rock and roll, legendary lyrics…. an amazing night!

The second image from a recent motorcycle ride to a wind farm not far from where we live. For some reason I am fascinated by these gigantic pinwheels and the “whoosh” sound that they make as those huge blades turn….. pretty cool! Two more will follow….in color.

August is showing it can do summer….warm days and almost cool evenings have made for some beautiful days here. You can see that Fall and Winter are on their way back…the sunrise is later and the sunset is earlier… looking forward to the change of seasons…

Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial

middle east conflicts war memorial

I have posted many images from this location in Marseilles, IL: this is the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial. On a recent bicycle ride here I took more time at the memorial. I took many pictures and when I came home I noticed that I took a picture of one of the granite walls without realizing that my last name was on the wall: “Garcia.” I don’t know this brave hero, or the other fallen heroes etched on these silent, black stones, but I am so grateful for their bravery, service, valor and sacrifice.

Two  more images that represent our summer. First up: here are the handicapped parking spaces at my favorite “continues-to-be-flooded” park. Stay tuned for the next one…
